The Employer Solutions portfolio’s objective is to continue to grow the capacity of the job development function in Ontario.
To achieve this and to help job developers to be successful we have developed and are developing partnerships with a variety of organizations to address specific needs, such as partnering with educational organizations to generate professional development opportunities for job developers. We will also strive to create partnerships with Ontario employers and other organizations that benefit the employers, our sector, and ONESTEP.
Potential partnerships are based on mutually beneficial relationships and qualitative or quantitative returns on investment for all partners involved.
We are also looking forward to future potential partnering opportunities. If you would like to enter into a partnership conversation, or have ideas about partnerships that would benefit the job development function in Ontario, contact John Viktorin, Manager of Employer Solutions at jviktorin@onestep.on.ca or at 416-591-7151 x222.

Partnership Case Study Excerpts: Current Partnership Activities
- Employer Solutions developed a partnership between ONESTEP and OAYEC/FirstWork to launch the inaugural edition of The Ontario Road Show conference. The Ontario Road Show was designed by the two partnering organizations to further develop the skills of job developers working across the province. The conference and associated training opportunities are delivered collaboratively to all four regions of the province, bringing professional development to the target audience’s backyard.
- Further to The Ontario Road Show conference we built informal, ad hoc partnerships with local sector councils, chambers of commerce and others to drive employer participation at an employers-only seminar at conference stops in Ottawa, London and Toronto in 2009 and 2010.
- Partnerships with other similar, synergistic organizations are ongoing and welcomed. We have held conversations with Social Capital Partners about how we might work together to aid both employers and members agencies to develop deeper relationships with one another.
- We have also partnered with the Wood Manufacturers sector council to assist their launch of a project related to apprenticeships with wood manufacturing organizations based on diversity hiring through our member agencies.
- We are currently in discussions with ASPECT and RQUODE (peer umbrella organizations in B.C. and Quebec) in relation to a potential partnership with a Big Bank on a project that is national in scope.
